Deep Blue Scuba

Code of Conduct

Deep Blue Scuba Edinburgh – Code of Conduct

1. Our Core Principle

At Deep Blue Scuba Edinburgh, we provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community for all divers. We expect everyone to treat each other with dignity, fairness, and mutual respect both on land and underwater.

2. Scope

This code applies to everyone engaging in any club activity—including but not limited to pool sessions, open water training, trips, social occasions, and online communications.

3. Zero Tolerance

We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against discrimination, harassment, or bullying. No member will be treated differently or excluded based on:

  • Age or disability

  • Sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation

  • Race, nationality, or ethnic origin

  • Religion, belief, or any other protected characteristic

4. Expected Behaviour
  • Be Inclusive: Welcome new divers warmly, use respectful language, and avoid offensive jokes or remarks.

  • Respect Boundaries: Maintain a comfortable environment free from unwanted advances or physical contact.

  • Ensure Fairness: Guarantee equal and unbiased access to training, trips, and kit hire.

5. Reporting & Enforcement
  • Speak Up: Report any inappropriate behaviour immediately to a staff member, either in person or email us: wiebkenahrendorf@deepbluescuba.co.uk or president@deepbluescuba.co.uk

  • Consequences: All reports will be investigated confidentially. Violating this code will result in disciplinary action, up to and including permanent exclusion from the club.

Our “Look But Don’t Touch” policy

As a PADI dive club, we at Deep Blue Scuba and everyone who dives with us deeply respect marine life by committing to a strict “look but don’t touch” policy, ensuring the underwater world remains entirely undisturbed for the next diver.
