2025/26 Committee
Deep Blue Scuba is a PADI dive club and training centre based in Edinburgh run entirely by volunteers who are very passionate about scuba diving. The Committee are elected by the Members of Deep Blue Scuba and are responsible for managing the affairs of our club in accordance with the Constitution.
Formalities aside, the volunteers that make all our activities possible extend beyond the contribution of the individuals below and are too numerous to name. They range from our Staff Members and Ordinary Members who selflessly give up their own personal time, over and above their day jobs to help so that we can share our passion for scuba diving with others. Ellis Bayne, President
After being on the trips team for 1 year, Ellis was elected DBS president in November 2025. He is also one of our PADI instructors and a keen wreck and tech diver.
“There is an incredible amount of work that goes into the running of a dive club, and it is even more incredible that, at DBS, this is all done by volunteers. I’ve always wanted to give back to DBS and help the next generation of divers coming through so when opportunities to become more involved in the club have presented themselves, I’ve taken them. That started with teaching before joining the committee in 2024 as Trips Co-Secretary alongside Tom Lewis and then President in 2025.”

Sarah Gregory, General Secretary
Sarah will be your first point of contact for all enquiries to Deep Blue Scuba. She has been on the committee since 2017 and will certainly be able to help you out on anything diving related or put you in touch with someone that can.

Gareth Smyth, Treasurer
After resigning from his role as president last year, Gareth still remains the club’s treasurer. That means he looks after all matters financial for the club. On a day-to-day basis, Gareth will be the person you interact with when payments are involved.
Gareth started diving with DBS back in 2007 and is now one of our very busy PADI instructors.

Aimee Hutchison, Membership
Aimee has taken over the Membership coordinator role at the AGM in November 2025 and will be in touch with all divers interested in becoming a club member. She is keeping the records of all DBS members and ensures that our members’ interests are at the forefront of our minds and that they receive up to date information on all activities of the club.
Aimee is also a PADI Divemaster and very actively supporting our training.

Jeremy Brown & Tom Jennings, Training
Jeremy and Tom J are both PADI instructors and oversee and coordinate all our training activities, from taster sessions to professional rating certifications. They make sure that the courses we deliver are top notch using the latest teaching techniques and materials. When you train with us, you can be confident that you’ve got the best instruction.
Jeremy is also the owner of the Edinburgh Diving Centre.

Jorge Mozzino & Tom Lewis, Trips
Jorge and Tom L jointly oversee and organises our dive trips. They are charged with keeping up with our insatiable need to be one with the water. They keep us sane by ensuring we have ample opportunities throughout the year to dive in some of the most amazing sites Scotland has to offer and further afield.

Stevie Logan, Premises & Equipment
Apart from being one of our instructors, Stevie makes sure our premises and equipment are always in tip top condition – and that’s a lot of equipment. Considering that our dive equipment is what keeps us alive underwater, that’s a really important job!

Annabel Sick, Social Media
Annabel is in charge of running the DBS Facebook and Instagram accounts since 2025. She makes sure that there are decent pictures and reports from all our club activities on these platforms and she is also in charge of the monthly newsletter.
