Look after more than yourself… PADI Rescue Diver Course
Arguably one of the most fun and challenging PADI courses, it’s also the one that most divers credit with changing their diving. It’s a huge confidence builder, showing divers that their skills allow them to look after others underwater and on the surface.
Following by a thorough course in First Aid procedures, Emergency First Response, the Rescue Diver course introduces the knowledge and skills to help divers who have got into difficulty. The range of the course includes looking after tired divers, approaching panicked divers and treating divers suspected of a range of illnesses and injuries whilst waiting for medical services.
The subject matter may be serious, but the course is a lot of fun with plenty of opportunities for role play and hands-on scenario practice. The four day course is usually completed over two weekends. It covers one day’s Emergency First Response training which will qualify you as a First Aider – optional for those with a current first aid qualification. Over the second day, we combine rescue theory lessons with pool exercises and scenario practice. On the second weekend, we put everything into practice in open water.
