St Abbs

Wolffish poking its head out between two soft coralsA world class dive, situated just an hours drive from Edinburgh is the St Abbs and Eyemouth Marine Reserve. We’ll set off from St Abbs harbour around the headland where you can explore the coral smothered gullies, admire the beauty of nudibranches and sea hares, watch male cuckoo wrasses show off their dazzling colours and see if you can spot the legendary wolf fish.

New diver trip – On Sat 28th Sept, we are running a trip for newer divers. It’ll be £90 and the additional uplift is so we can put an extra guide/dive team member in the water and increase our staff:diver ratio.

Farne Islands

A seal peers out from some kelpDiving in the Farne Islands is an assault on the senses with a variety of wreck and scenic dives on offer. It boasts one of the largest grey seal colonies in England – if you are looking for encounters with seals this is it. Be warned though – the seal pups come out to play in late September and October. They are very inquisitive and often come in to take a close look and even nibble on your fins!

Clyde

Blue RIB Starfish Enterprise tied up at a marinaAn emerging favourite with members, we once again return to the Clyde with Wreckspeditions on their boat, “Starfish Enterprise”. Wreckspeditions are based in the beautiful town of Dunoon on the Cowal Peninsula, the doorway to Argyll.

This year we have both days of the weekend booked from Dunoon, which gives the opportunity to stay over and make a weekend of it for those who want to.

There are more than 20 shipwrecks within a half hour steam, as well as glorious sheltered sea loch sites, islands with rocky reefs and sheer wall faces, and thriving marine life. Dive sites in the Clyde range from 5-50m+ so there is something here for all abilities, from trainees to tech divers.

Anstruther

We’ve secured a couple of weekends on Mako II out of Anstruther. Mako II is a brand new boat launched in summer 2022, replacing the previous Mako.

Anstruther is an ideal place to explore the wrecks and cliffs of the Isle of May, as well as plenty of other local sites. And there is the famous Anstruther Fish Bar on the harbourfront.

Please note, if you hire cylinders from us at Anstruther, there will be a £3 surcharge in addition to hire costs as air fills in Anstruther are considerably more expensive than elsewhere.
